Cardamom is often called the Queen of Spices, and Kerala’s Idukki district produces some of the finest cardamom in the world. While aroma and oil content define quality, size grading plays an important role in how cardamom is used.
8mm Cardamom is considered a premium grade. The larger pods usually contain more mature seeds and higher oil concentration, resulting in a stronger aroma and intense flavour. This grade is ideal for beverages, desserts, and special recipes where fragrance matters most.
7mm Cardamom, while slightly smaller, still delivers excellent aroma and balanced flavour. It is well suited for daily cooking, spice blends, and regular use without compromising on quality.
At Spices Pots, both grades are carefully selected from our farmers in the Idukki high ranges and packed fresh to preserve their natural qualities. The difference lies not in purity, but in usage preference.
Understanding these grades helps you choose the right cardamom for your kitchen needs, ensuring the best results every time.
